Embossing folders are embossed folders that you sandwich paper between and run through a sizzix machine. When they go through the sizzix machine it empresses a design or texture into your paper....
BUT what if you use it with plastic how does that work? I thought I would try this and show you my results!
I used Tim Holtz Embossing folders.
Where to get the plastic?
I had a couple packages lying around... I cut the flat backs off the packages and cut the edges to create a flat piece to put into the folder and run through the sizzix.
Once I ran through the plastic this is what I ended up with. Even just like this I think they look awesome, my favorite is the woodgrain for sure!
I decided to use Tim Holtz Alcohol Inks, I applied the ink to the back with a felt applicator tool.
Then on the front I applied white paint to "catch" the raised pattern of the woodgrain. I wiped off the paint and left it just on the raised pattern.
Here are some other examples that I made:
These will be an awesome addition to any card or layout!
