Well I am happy to say it is that time of the year and school will be done in one week!
We need to get our teacher gifts and cards ready.
My girls really enjoy thinking of what they would like to give to their teachers. The excitement of giving and thinking of others is something I like to encourage with my girls.
I think it is so cute the way they consider what the teacher or even their friends would like(not always accurate, but they think about it!).
One year when Mary was about 4 she was thinking of what to get her ballet teacher she decided that she would get her an outfit, with matching earrings, lipstick, nailpolish and a diamond star necklace....
She was a wonderful teacher BUT...

Here are some ideas for the teachers in your life or for someone you might just want to say "Thanks"!
The bag of cherries(which are very yummy in June) is what we gave last year, and the roses on the bags are actually shopping bags we found at Bowring! The girls thought these were great gifts for their teachers because they were healthy and good for the environment! The teacher also liked this idea.
This year we have tossed around many ideas gift cards for Tim Horton's, Starbuck's, Cineplex, Chapters. We did get them a little gift pack from the Body Shop. They have now decided they would like to make a "mixed media canvas" for their teacher's. So this week we will try this out and see what happens
But we still need a card and here are some examples I made up:
I just LOVE this card for a teacher and really this one would work for a man or woman.
In this card I used the "woodgrain" texture fade technique but with a more feminine twist.
The last three cards I used the October Afternoon 5 & Dime collection:
This is the paper I used as my background:
It looked very plain when I first saw it and THEN I reached for my Ranger-Perfect Pearls Mist-Heirloom Gold...and it was AMAZING, the spray is this subtle dusting of gold and it looks gorgeous.
All the colors are beautiful they add a touch of elegance to any project.
